Description
CT Technologist - Acute Care (Night Shift)
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
The Acute Care CT Technologist performs CT procedures and related imaging techniques to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Operates CT scanners to produce high-quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. Adjusts scanning parameters to optimize image quality and minimize exposure. Performs routine quality inspections and maintenance on CT equipment. Works independently in a complex, acute care inpatient setting and supports multiple hospital departments including NICU, CCU, and ED.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology program or equivalent
- Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiology and advanced registry in CT
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of radiology experience as a registered technologist
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of previous CT experience in a trauma center (Level I or II)
Essential Job Functions
- Perform CT exams and procedures as requested by medical staff
- Assist Radiologists and other medical personnel during exams
- Complete documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
- Retrieve and verify written orders and related health information
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Train and support peers
- Work varied shifts including nights and participate in call rotation as needed

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Flexibility to work beyond a standard 40-hour week, including weekends and after-hours
- On-call availability may be required
- Ability to handle challenging situations and de-escalate upset individuals
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed

- Bloodborne pathogens (blood, bodily fluids, tissues)
- Radiation exposure during imaging procedures
- Chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings
- Infectious diseases from patient contact
- Emotionally challenging situations involving distressed patients or families
Additional Information
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
- The facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
