Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical

Location: Elmira, New York

Job Description

• 12-hour night shift (12N)
• Every other holiday and every other weekend commitment
• Dress code: Navy blue
• Travel RNs are the first to float if needed

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license for New York
• Minimum years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN competency required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only)
• Completion of skills checklist specific to the unit
• Successful completion of core competency exams (minimum 80% score)
• Compliance with all required immunizations and health screenings, including:

  • COVID-19 vaccine or agency declination
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity proof or vaccination series
  • Hepatitis B immunity or declination form
  • Influenza vaccine or declination with mask requirement
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination series
  • Tdap vaccine preferred (not required) or declination form
  • Tuberculosis (TB) testing within last 12 months (PPD or Quantiferon)
• Annual fit test for approved respirator masks
• Physical/Health statement within last 12 months, including vitals and vision screening
• Valid, unexpired US driver’s license or state ID
• Successful completion of agency background check and drug screen within 30 days of start
• Submission of professional references and employment verifications
• Completion of required professional documentation and acknowledgments (e.g., job description, code of conduct, sexual harassment acknowledgment)

Additional Requirements

• Resume detailing employment and education history for the last 7 years
• Two professional references: one from the last 12 months and one from the last 3 years
• Verification of initial nursing degree (ASN or BSN)
• Color headshot photo (professional style)
• Completion of agency-specific onboarding documents and quizzes
