Description
Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule: Every other weekend, no on-call required
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner OneChart
Uniform: Blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation documents
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics with minimum passing score of 80%
- Passing score on Cerner test-out and EKG exam (minimum 80%, two attempts allowed)
- Completion of unit-specific checklist (optional but recommended)
- Completion of pre-hire modules and onboarding education attestations
- Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, and National Sex Offender registry
- Employment and education verifications within 90 days of start
- Health and immunization requirements including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines or immunity evidence, no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with annual questionnaire; chest x-ray if positive
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be onsite)
- Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Driver’s license or state ID matching address requirements
Additional Notes
- All credentials and verifications must be current and compliant within specified timeframes prior to assignment start
- Some documents and attestations must be uploaded or completed onsite as part of the onboarding process
- Professional references (minimum two) required prior to first assignment
- Badge photo required (front-facing, white or blue background, no filters)
