Job Description

Seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).

• Start Date: ASAP
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float: Yes, within skillset
• First-time travelers accepted
• Locals accepted
• On-call: No

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• LA Fire Card
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• Acute Care Hospital, Magnet Facility
• Total Staffed Beds: 377
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub color: Any (L/D & OR provided)
• Free parking available

Scheduling & Work Conditions

• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Floating to other units within skillset may be required
• No on-call duties

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TB test or chest X-ray (annual)
  • Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Respirator fit testing (annual, travel only)
• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification (nursing degree)
• Employment application covering last 5 years
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of relevant experience within last 3 years

Training & Competency Requirements

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start (including specialty-specific and regulatory modules)
• Epic training modules completion required
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Skills checklists updated annually as applicable

Additional Notes

• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Return travelers with less than 30-day gap may have some background and drug screen waivers
• Float policy acknowledgment required
• Candidates must include requested Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission

This position is ideal for ICU RNs with at least 1 year of experience who are flexible with weekend shifts and floating within their skillset. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
