Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Location: Orange, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)

Job Description
Seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to work 16-hour shifts in a large acute care hospital setting. This role requires the ability to circulate during procedures and work weekends as needed, which may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs. Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered. Travel pairs are not accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Important Notes
- Guaranteed hours may be subject to call-off once per pay period (2 weeks)
- Local radius for assignment is 50 miles
- Weekend work may be required beyond every other weekend
- Travel pairs and scheduling requests for outside employment will not be considered
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator fit testing (for travel starts on or after 2/5/2024)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules and Epic training prior to start
- Compliance with state-specific background and license verifications
Certifications & Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification or equivalent training required for all L&D RNs
- Other certifications as required by facility or specialty
Scheduling & Work Environment
- 3 shifts of 12 hours each, day shift
- Weekends required, may exceed every other weekend
- Must be able to float within a reasonable distance if needed
- No scheduling accommodations for outside employment
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with prior travel contract experience who are ready to work in a fast-paced, large hospital environment with a strong focus on compliance and certifications.
