Job Opportunity: RN Step Down

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Work every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) schedule.
• Requires 2 years of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) or Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care.
• Placement will be on a unit with the greatest need, which may be PCU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry units based on the nurse’s skills.
• Candidates with Med-Surg or Stepdown RN experience are acceptable as both require the same credentialing.
• Must be willing and able to float within skill set to other units onsite or to sites within 40 miles if needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit), including experience within the last year
• Experience in Med-Surg and Telemetry
• Acute Care experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Proof of immunizations and health screenings including:

  • MMR (2 doses or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (2 doses or immunity verification; no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA with annual questionnaire; chest X-ray if positive)
• Fit test for respiratory protection (specific mask types required, updated annually).
• Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
• Background checks including criminal history and employment verification.
• Completion of specialty exams, core competencies, EKG exam, color vision test, and Epic system test-out prior to assignment and updated as required.
• Submission of professional references and education verification.
• Driver’s license or state ID matching license address requirements.
• Completion of onboarding modules and attestations specific to nursing contingent workers.

Additional Information

• This role requires flexibility to work in various units and potentially travel to nearby sites within a 40-mile radius.
• The assignment length is approximately 13 weeks.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
