Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Location: Napa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Shifts: Required
- On-call: Pending confirmation
- Floating: Required between like units
- Block Scheduling: Possible, at manager discretion
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
- Charting System: Epic

Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as applicable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
- Other certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track
Required Licenses and Verifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license for California
- NURSYS verification required
- State-specific background checks and clearances as applicable
- Compliance with state and facility-specific licensing and credentialing requirements
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates starting 2/5/2024 and after
- Fit mask testing annually (travel only)
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including state-specific searches
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Requirements
- Float policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to other units/facilities)
- Completion of required facility and regional training modules annually via LMS platform
- Epic training modules completion as required by facility and specialty
- Skills checklists and competency exams as applicable to specialty and unit
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Notes
- Candidates must submit all required documentation and certifications prior to start
- Background checks and verifications must be current and compliant with facility and state regulations
- Floating between similar units is expected
- Block scheduling may be accommodated based on manager discretion
This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery RN with at least 1 year of experience, who is flexible with weekends and floating, and is comfortable working in an acute care hospital setting using Epic for charting. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
