Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN with at least 3-5 years of experience, preferably trained in the LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) model. The role involves care in labor and delivery, postpartum, c-section circulation, and special care nursery.

Unit & Patient Population

Unit: Labor & Delivery (LDRP)
Number of Beds: 24
Patient Ratios: 1:6 (census ranges from 3 to 24 patients)
Patient Population: Neonates and Adults
Equipment: External Fetal Monitoring (EFM), IV therapy
Electronic Health Records: Cerner, Powerchart, Omnicell Med System

Shift & Schedule

Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts), rotating shifts with self-scheduling
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Call Requirements: Yes

Required Certifications

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
AWHONN Intermediate (preferred)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maine
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum)
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Additional Notes

No first-time travelers accepted for this assignment
No float requirements
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
