Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN with at least 3-5 years of experience, preferably trained in the LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) model. The role involves care in labor and delivery, postpartum, c-section circulation, and special care nursery.


Unit & Patient Population

  • Unit: Labor & Delivery (LDRP)
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Patient Ratios: 1:6 (census ranges from 3 to 24 patients)
  • Patient Population: Neonates and Adults
  • Equipment: External Fetal Monitoring (EFM), IV therapy
  • Electronic Health Records: Cerner, Powerchart, Omnicell Med System

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts), rotating shifts with self-scheduling
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Call Requirements: Yes

Required Certifications

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • AWHONN Intermediate (preferred)

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Maine
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum)
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Additional Notes

  • No first-time travelers accepted for this assignment
  • No float requirements
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
