Registered Nurse - ICU/PCU Nights

Location: Clarkston, Washington
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in ICU and PCU during night shifts.
• Must be experienced in all ICU/PCU areas and willing to float to the Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) as needed.
• Identify patient and family education needs and provide appropriate education.
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures (e.g., side rails, restraints, safe equipment use) and follow restraint policies correctly.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation and troubleshooting of equipment in PCU, Telemetry, and Med-Surg areas.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures using proper documentation and standard precautions.
• Maintain accurate, concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses.
• Accurately document charge and complete physician orders timely, including 24-hour order checks if assigned.
• Provide thorough change-of-shift reports to oncoming staff.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and report critical lab values promptly.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in ICU/PCU nursing required.
• Ability to float to Medical-Surgical Unit as needed.
