Description

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/PCU/MS Float

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Float across ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical (MS) units
Must be comfortable working all three specialties
Staffing ratios: ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1, MS 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1)
Shifts: 3x12 hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), 4x12 shifts available by request
Floating may occur every 4 hours, up to 2-3 times per shift
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
Holiday requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
EPIC charting experience required
Accepts first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years ICU experience, including experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS certification
Experience in central line care/management
Skilled in care of ventilated patients and suctioning (ETT, NT)
Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Experience titrating cardiac drips and vasoactive gtts
Skilled in managing continuous IV sedation and emergency medication administration
Experience responding to emergencies via Rapid Response/Code teams
Knowledge of IV insulin protocols
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
