Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Mission Viejo, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description

• Work in the Cath Lab with a schedule of 4x10 hour shifts plus on-call requirements.
• On-call required 8 days per month.
• Weekend shifts required at a minimum of every other weekend, with potential for more.
• Variable shifts scheduled as needed, not rotating.
• May be required to float to a nearby facility within a 50-mile radius.
• Start date: ASAP.
• Prior travel experience not accepted for first-timers (must have prior travel experience).
• Fluoroscopy certification required.
• Electrophysiology (EP) experience strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or equivalent.
• Fluoroscopy certification.
• Other certifications may be required based on clinical track and specialty.

Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital setting.
• Total staffed beds: 488.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Free parking available.
• Scrub color and other uniform details provided on site.

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start.
• Immunizations and health documents including TB test, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, COVID vaccine or declination, and seasonal flu vaccine or declination.
• Fit mask testing required annually.
• Background checks and verifications as per state and facility requirements.
• Completion of required training modules prior to start (including regulatory and specialty-specific modules).
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years.

Scheduling Notes

• Call shifts are 4x10 hour shifts.
• On-call required 8 days per month.
• Weekend shifts at least every other weekend, often more.
• Floating to nearby units may be required.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager discretion.

• This position requires prior travel experience; first-time travelers will not be considered.
• Pending licenses are not accepted.
• Must be able to meet all health, background, and credentialing requirements prior to start.
