Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide care primarily on Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit; must be willing to float to Maternity as needed.
• Patient ratio typically 1:1 or 1:2.
• No charge nurse or preceptor responsibilities required.
• May float to Med/Surg to serve as safety sitter if not needed on L&D/OB.
• Work schedule is rotational with day and night shifts, primarily nights.
• Majority of shifts will be nights; occasional day shifts may be required but not both in the same week without prior discussion.
• Competency with fetal monitor strips is required.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Competence with fetal monitor strips.

Work Environment

• Rotation schedule with a focus on night shifts.
• Patient care primarily in Labor & Delivery with flexibility to float to related units.
• 1:1 or 1:2 patient care ratio.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Must be willing to float between Labor & Delivery, Maternity, and Med/Surg safety sitter roles as needed.
