Description
Job Opportunity: CT Scan Tech
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Four 10-hour shifts (10:00 AM – 8:30 PM), Tuesday through Friday
- On-call: Yes, on-call rotation with staff
- Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
- Daily caseload varies by shift and location
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Siemens equipment experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (CT) certification
Additional Requirements
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
- Radius rule: 60 miles
- Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for certain units (verify if applicable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for pediatric units (not required for adult ER)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required (not required for ER RNs)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
- Color Blind Testing required prior to start
- Competency exams required
Health & Safety Requirements
- Initial physical exam, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella: positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if needed
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- COVID-19 vaccines highly preferred; if declined, a vaccination declination form is required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
Background & Documentation
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Employment verification of last 3 clinical employers (or all if fewer than 3)
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Complete employment application/resume including all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed
- State-specific searches including Medicaid excluded providers list
- Primary source verification of active, unencumbered South Carolina license required
Facility Specifics
- Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo required for badge (frontal view, business casual attire)
- Radiation exposure attestation required prior to start if radiation badge is needed
- Facility emergency response team participation required (hurricane season awareness June-November)
Notes
- Candidates cannot start without their radiation badge; badges may take 5-7 days to process and ship
- Floating and on-call duties are part of the assignment
- Facility may call off shifts but guarantees minimum hours with some flexibility
