Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Long Beach, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
- First-time travelers accepted: Yes
- Documentation System: EPIC
- Floating Required: Yes (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Emergency Department)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ONS CHEMO (Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification)
- Skills Required: Med/Surg, Telemetry
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: IVIG experience required
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling
- Time Off: Pre-approved time off at manager’s discretion; must be provided upon submission
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Med Surg experience
- Emergency Department (ED) experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- IVIG experience
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
- Competency exams including medication test/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG exam
- Color blindness testing annually
- Photo ID and emergency contact form required
- Compliance with facility dress, hand hygiene, and drug/alcohol-free policies
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and education modules prior to or on first day
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.
- On-call duties are not required.
- Time off requests must be approved before submission.
This position is ideal for an experienced Oncology RN with strong telemetry and IVIG skills, comfortable with self-scheduling and floating across multiple units.
