Description
Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Belleville, Illinois
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Description
- 36 hours guaranteed with ability to be called off three shifts in 13 weeks
- Nurses will float to multiple units including Medical-Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID units
- Some floors require primary nursing
- Strong, independent, and experienced nurses needed for a large campus float pool
- Every other weekend required
- Will float when needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Experience in Trauma and Oncology nursing
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Proficient in IV start skills
Additional Requirements
- Must complete skills checklist or equivalent competency documentation
- Background check within 1 year required
- Drug testing within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- COVID-19 vaccination required by 9/15 or approved medical/religious exemption with mask-wearing if exempt
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Photo ID required (passport or driver’s license)
- Emergency contact and other standard employment documentation required
Work Environment
- Float pool includes multiple hospital units and locations within the region
- Locals allowed to apply
- Some units require primary nursing responsibilities
Schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Flexibility to float to different units as needed
This position is ideal for experienced travel nurses who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-unit float pool environment and have prior travel contract experience.
