Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: San Diego, California

Job Description

• Provide individualized, holistic nursing care to patients and families, promoting progress toward self-identified goals.
• Perform nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic, and efficient care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members and seek additional resources for complex or high-risk clinical situations.
• Serve as a patient and family advocate to ensure excellent and satisfying care.
• Assess patient and family needs, document assessment data, and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement and adapt age- and culturally-appropriate nursing interventions.
• Evaluate patient and family progress toward goals and adjust care plans as needed.
• Identify and address patient/family educational needs using adult-learning theory.
• Recognize communication barriers and engage interdisciplinary expertise to establish therapeutic relationships.
• Delegate and assign care within scope of practice to other healthcare team members.
• Coordinate and communicate with healthcare team and ancillary staff to support patient progress and workflow.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 2 years of OB/GYN experience, including women's procedures such as C-sections and hysterectomy
• OB/GYN experience within the last year
• Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
