Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Belleville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week
- Unit: High risk cardiac telemetry unit
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May float within scope to all inpatient units at both campuses
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
- Guaranteed Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week for 3 shifts of 12 hours
- Special Requirements:
- Cardiac drip management
- Sheath pulls
- Central line management
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with cardiac drip management
- Experience with sheath pulls
Facility & Work Environment
- Type: Acute Care Hospital
- Unit Beds: 40 beds on unit, 222 beds in facility
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Parking: Free
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months (including statewide and nationwide searches)
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Fingerprinting required for assignments in long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required
- Primary source verification of RN license required
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including multiple substances, must be current throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Required facility-specific documents and acknowledgements (e.g., HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code) must be completed prior to start
- Competency exams and unit-specific skills checklists required and must be current
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

- No on-call required
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Must adhere to facility policies including fingernail, dress code, and hand hygiene policies
- Candidates must be prepared to float within inpatient units as needed
- No local candidates accepted for this travel position
