Registered Nurse - Post Partum
Location: Bakersfield, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (88 days ≈ 13 weeks)
Job Description
- Independently provides nursing care to acutely ill patients under nurse leader supervision.
- Performs nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care.
- Creates a compassionate, patient-centered environment supporting mind, body, and spirit healing.
- Collects and documents patient data; interprets assessment data to identify physiological and psychosocial risks.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Prioritizes nursing actions using education, experience, and assessment data interpretation.
- Establishes nursing diagnoses and revises care plans as needed.
- Manages rapidly changing patient situations and activates emergency protocols when necessary.
- Coordinates care activities with nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers.
- Adheres to therapeutic standards, evidence-based practices, infection control policies, medication administration, and controlled substance regulations.
- Participates in staff meetings, professional governance, and nursing practice development.
- Completes required competencies, mandatory classes, and educational coursework.
- Maintains knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice.
- Complies with RN scope of practice and professional nursing standards and ethics.
- Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in postpartum nursing care.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
- Valid and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Knowledge and experience with Cerner EMR system.
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Must meet all health requirements designated by the employer.
- Knowledge of advanced nursing theory, techniques, medical terminology, instruments, equipment, and medication effects.
