Location: Silverdale, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel contract. The role involves floating across multiple units including ICU, ED Boarders (in-patients only), MedSurg units, and Observation unit. Patient acuity and nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit.
Unit Details & Responsibilities
- Units Included: ICU, ED Boarders, MedSurg, Observation
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- ICU: 1:1 or 1:2
- PCU or ED: 1:3-4
- Lower acuity MedSurg: 1:5-6
- Common Patient Types: Varies by unit assignment
- Float Requirements: Must be able to take full assignments on MedSurg and ICU, including managing Swans, IABP, and Impella devices
- Drip Titration: Required in ED, Critical Care, and PCU units (sedation, vasoactive meds, paralytics)
- Telemetry: Must be able to read tele strips; monitor techs present on each unit
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Present on each unit
- Nurse Aids: Available depending on unit and staffing
- Respiratory Therapy Equipment: Ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP available
Scheduling & Orientation
- Shifts: Set schedule with potential for overtime
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (every weekend considered)
- Holiday Requirement: Yes
- Call/Standby: No
- Unit Assignment: Staffing calls 30-60 minutes before shift start
- Orientation: 1 onboarding day with manager plus 2 shifts with float pool member
- Dress Code: Professional scrubs (any color) or business casual for trainings
Required Qualifications
- Active Washington RN license (pending license submissions accepted; temporary license takes ~4 weeks)
- Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience (highest required experience)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Ability to advocate for own skill set and refuse tasks outside comfort/competency
Additional Notes
- Orientation/education hours not guaranteed during first 2 weeks; expect 25+ hours
- Must be comfortable managing high-acuity patients and advanced cardiac support devices
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
This position is ideal for ICU nurses comfortable with floating across multiple units and managing complex patient care in a fast-paced environment.
