Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Labor and Delivery
Number of Beds: 16
Number of Staff: 120
Shifts:
- Day Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
- Night Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2
Equipment: Baxter Pumps, Phillips electronic fetal monitoring
EMR System: Cerner, Fetal ink

Job Description

Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hyst procedures.
Immediate newborn care and high-risk patient management.
May float to Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU), Mother-Baby (MOMB), or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Scrubs and attire are provided.
Weekends and on-call shifts are not required but available upon approval.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Experience in high-risk obstetrics
Immediate newborn care skills
