Registered Nurse - Oncology

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Oncology/Women’s Surgical
Number of Beds: 24
Staff per Shift:
- Day: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Night: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs
Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
Equipment: Standard unit equipment
EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

Typical procedures: Occasional pelvic exams, echo, thoracentesis
Floating: Rarely floats; may float to other med-surg units
Dress Code:
- RNs: Navy, white, or combination of both
- CNAs: Galaxy Blue
Weekend Requirement: Staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
On Call: Rare

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
BLS certification
De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Completion of Oncology knowledge assessment or RN pharmacology knowledge assessment or Hazardous drug risk education (USP 800)
