Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab nursing. The role involves working in imaging services, interventional radiology (IR), cath lab, and critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
- Ability to make fine discriminations in sound
- Work with bodily fluids and substances
- Provide patient care under a wide variety of circumstances
- Handle emergency or crisis situations
- Adapt to varying and unpredictable situations
- OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk)
- Assist with lifting, supporting, maneuvering, and adjusting patients weighing over 200 pounds
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
- State License - Copy of Professional License required
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) required
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab nursing
- Previous experience in imaging services
- Experience in cath lab
- Experience in critical care
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
- Education verification (highest level achieved) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Sex offender search and various federal/state screenings required and updated annually
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
- TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually
Additional Requirements
- Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps in employment
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
- Professional references required (2 for clinical roles)
- Various facility-specific documents and attestations must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Compliance with facility policies including standards of business conduct, code of conduct, and regulatory orientation
