Job Description

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a day shift position with weekend rotations. The role involves:

• Utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
• Administering prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
• Documenting care according to standards.
• Performing patient assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations.
• Developing and executing individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians or clinic policy, including patient and family education.
• Participating in department/unit performance improvement activities and shared governance.
• Providing clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Applying critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.
• Engaging in professional nursing development, unit practice activities, and peer review processes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Schedule

• Day shift, approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotations required
