    Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

    Location: Santa Rosa, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Must have labor and post-partum experience (hard stop)
    • Shift options: 4x12 or 3x12 hours (upon request)
    • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
    • Orientation: 36 hours
    • Floating between similar units required
    • Locals and first-time travelers not accepted
    • Guaranteed hours with possible call-off once per two-week pay period

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
    • Post Partum experience
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
    • AWHONN Intermediate certification
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Scheduling and Work Environment

    • Block scheduling not allowed
    • Must be willing to float between like units

    Orientation and Training

    • 36 hours orientation required
    • Epic charting system used

    Health and Safety Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required and updated annually
    • Immunizations and screenings required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)

    Background and Compliance

    • Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Education verification required (nursing degree)
    • Employment application covering last 5 years required
    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
    • Various state-specific background and registry checks as applicable

    Additional Requirements

    • Must complete required WorkRamp training modules annually, including:
      • Regulatory requirements
      • Specialty-specific modules for Labor and Delivery
      • Epic training modules
    • Float policy acknowledgment required (may be required to float to other nearby units)

    Notes

    • Prior travel experience is not accepted (first-timers not accepted)
    • Must have all required certifications and licenses prior to start
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
