Description
Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
Weekend Hours: As required
Call Requirements: None
Unit Information
- Unit: Cardiac Med Telemetry
- Number of Beds: 32
- Patient Ratios (estimated):
- Days: 1:5 to 1:6
- Nights: 1:6 to 1:8
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry, lift equipment
- EMR System: EPIC
- Patient Population: Cardiac and Medical-Surgical patients
Required Qualifications
Valid RN license in Missouri
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of inpatient Cardiac Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience and competence in drug titration
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification from AHA
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments
- Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality
- Float on a rotational basis within the unit
- Work night shift orientation on day shift for the first week
- Meet physical demands including standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients (up to 50 lbs)
- Follow facility policies including flu vaccination requirement (Nov 1 – Apr 1) with no declinations accepted
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking
- Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, gripping, kneeling, crouching, and minimal crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk

- Dress code: Black scrubs; no torn clothes or open-toed shoes
- Flexible scheduling options available but must be indicated on submission
- Holiday time off requests limited to one per assignment
- Must be flexible, determined, decisive, and adaptable
