Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
On-Call: No on-call required
Unit Overview
- 34-bed unit providing modified total patient care to general medical/surgical and surgical oncology patients.
- Patient age range: Young adult through very old age (18 years and older).
- Unit capable of 24-hour cardiac telemetry monitoring.
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients.
- Equipment includes Welch Allyn Vital Signs and GE Telemetry Monitoring.
- Electronic Medical Record system: MediTech.
Staffing
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 Nurses, 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs).
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 Nurses, 2 PCTs.
- Staffing decisions made by nurse manager, director, house supervisor, or charge nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

- Chemotherapy administration (must be chemotherapy certified to perform).
This position offers a 13-week travel contract on a telemetry unit with no on-call requirements, focused on medical-surgical and surgical oncology care with a supportive team environment.
