Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Position

Location

• Corpus Christi, Texas

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: 2 West (Med/Surg/Telemetry)
• Beds: Typically 8 inpatient + 8 admission unit beds; may flex up to 12 inpatient beds
• Staff: 10 total

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, 1 PCA
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, 1 PCA
• Patient Ratios: Maximum 6 patients per nurse
• Equipment: Standard medical equipment
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
• Patient Population: Medical/Surgical patients

Job Description

• Care for 4-6 patients at a time
• Perform standard nursing procedures including:

  • IV insertions
  • Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
  • Central line maintenance
  • Medication administration
  • Communication with care team members
  • Documentation in EHR

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Telemetry experience with a minimum of 1 year within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of acute med/surg experience within the last year
• Background in orthopedics or neurosurgery is a plus
• Med/Surg/Telemetry experience preferred

Work Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• Rotating weekends, with weekend coverage as needed for travel nurses

Work Environment

• Dress code: Scrubs
• Floating primarily to med/surg units
