Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical (Nights)
Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit
- Diverse patient population including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke care
- Fast-paced, challenging environment suitable for both graduate and experienced nurses
- Patient-centered care focused on safety and quality outcomes
- Active Unit Based Council promoting teamwork and a positive work environment
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration using clinical pathways and patient education
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessments
- Pursue lifelong learning through certification, advanced practice, and education
- Demonstrate leadership by sharing knowledge and serving as a clinical resource and role model
- Communicate effectively using SBAR and interdisciplinary methods
- Manage time efficiently and assist team members to enhance overall team performance
- Perform duties aligned with competency-based objectives
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred

- Physical copies of certifications required only if specified
- Full-time employees of the health system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment
