Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Salem, Virginia (Roanoke area)

Unit: Blue Hills FSED, Emergency Department
Number of Beds: 8
Daily Staff: 6
Day Shift Staff: 2 RNs, 1 EMT, 2 mid-level RNs
Night Shift Staff: 2 RNs
Patient Ratio: 4:1
Equipment: GE
EMR System: Meditech

Job Description

Care for critically ill patients in the Emergency Department
Manage both high and low acuity ED patients
Perform medication administration, lab work, and critical patient care
Work independently and collaboratively within a team

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule
No floating required

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs comfortable with critical care and working in a fast-paced environment.
