    Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse

    Location: Spokane, Washington
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Position may float between units.
    • Weekends required every other weekend.
    • No on-call required.
    • No block schedules required.
    • Patient Ratios:
      • ICU level of care: 2:1
      • PCU: 3:1
    • 48-hour shifts approved.
    • Charting system: Epic.
    • Scrub color: Any color.
    • Surgical services/scrubs provided.
    • Parking: No fee.
    • Facility type: Short Term Acute Care / Level III Trauma Center.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in Washington.
    • Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience within the last year.
    • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
    • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
    • Chemotherapy certification (if applicable).
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum 1 year ICU nursing experience required.
    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

    Schedule & Work Environment

    • Floating between units expected.
    • Weekend shifts every other weekend required.
    • 48-hour shifts approved.
    • No on-call or block scheduling required.

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years. Must be updated annually.
    • Drug screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
    • Immunizations and health documents required:
      • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
    • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting, from supervisors.

    Training & Competency

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
    • Competency exams required by specialty.
    • Color blindness testing if required by unit.
    • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units.
    • Epic training modules completion required.
    • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific Workramp modules required.
    • Basics of Trauma Informed Care training required prior to start.

    Additional Notes

    • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
    • No parking fees.
    • Epic charting system used.
    • Scrubs provided for surgical services.

    This position offers a challenging ICU nursing role in a Level III Trauma Center with supportive staffing ratios and a structured schedule. Candidates must meet all licensure, certification, and compliance requirements prior to start.
