Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: Healdsburg, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (hard stop), preference for 5 years or more
- Prior Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
- Weekend Requirement: No weekend shifts required
- Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to lower acuity units including Medical-Surgical/Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units
- Patient Load: 2 rooms/beds, average daily census 0-2
- State License: California RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable)
- IV Certification (as required)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (as required)
- NIH Stroke Certification (as required)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (as required)
Note: Certifications must be from recognized agencies (e.g., AHA, Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation) and verified per clinical track requirements.
Required Health Documents
Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent), updated annually
Immunizations and screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination
10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests accepted)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required (especially for international education)
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS platform prior to start and annually thereafter
- Float policy acknowledgement required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Additional Information
- Modules and training requirements vary by region and specialty; must be completed prior to start
- Candidates may be required to float to other units within a reasonable distance
- No weekend shifts required for this assignment
- Pending licenses are not accepted; must have active California RN license before start
