Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)
Location: Olive Branch, Mississippi
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Dates: May 4 or May 18
- Shift: Nights
- On-Call: As needed
- Weekend Requirement: As needed (no block weekend schedule, but weekend blocks may be considered)
- Locals: Not accepted (must be outside a 100-mile radius)
- Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Must be included at time of submission
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty
- First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 3+ years recent experience
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Experience in a large hospital preferred
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Mississippi
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
- Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
- Two recent professional references required
- Skills checklist and internal evaluation required if employed with agency for 1 year or more
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
- Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (must pass without limitations)
- Immunizations required:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed)
- Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed)
- Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
- TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year) and annual TB questionnaire if positive
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30) with mask-wearing if exempt
Additional Notes
- No first-time travelers unless 3+ years recent experience
- Large hospital and Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
- Strict photo requirements for badge issuance (passport-style photo, no hats, no glasses with glare, no filters, no facial piercings)
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
- Weekend and on-call shifts as needed; no block weekend schedule unless discussed during interview
Summary
This is a travel Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Room requiring night shifts with on-call and weekend availability as needed. Candidates must have at least 2 years of ER nursing experience, with Level I Trauma experience mandatory. First-time travelers are generally not accepted unless they have 3+ years of recent experience. Compliance with all licensing, certification, immunization, and background check requirements is mandatory. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
