Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care
Location: Burlingame, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs aimed at building or restoring vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills, as well as promoting general independence for persons with disabilities or developmental delays.
Shift:
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Day shift: 08:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Sunday through Thursday
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of recent relevant Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
- Education verification (highest level achieved) required
- Sex offender search and various federal/state screenings required
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared for work
- TB screening: Negative test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other certifications may be required depending on position specifics (verify as applicable)
Additional Requirements
- Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days documented in application
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years (Aya requirement)
- Various facility-specific documents and attestations must be reviewed and signed prior to start
