Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Home Health RN)

Location: Red Bluff, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Home Health RN for a travel assignment. The role involves providing care primarily to recently discharged adult patients at high risk for rehospitalization. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, wounds (including some wound vacs), and IV-PICC lines. No pediatric patients.

Typical daily workload is about 5 visits per day, with varying point values depending on visit type (start of care, recertification, resumption of care, routine visits).

Schedule & Work Details

• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Scheduling is generally done the day before but may change due to start of care processing or sick calls
• Weekend shifts are flexible; preference for Tuesday-Saturday schedule
• Holiday coverage needed (Thanksgiving and/or Christmas)
• No call or standby requirements
• Floating only within Home Health
• Dress code: Any work-appropriate scrubs

Patient Care & Equipment

• Patient education related to respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) but no direct RT duties
• Home health aide support available in the department

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Home Health RN
• Active California RN license
• BLS certification
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
• Experience with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) preferred

• Mileage reimbursement per GSA guidelines
• Manager available during working hours and after hours for urgent needs
• No pediatric patients; focus on adult patients with complex care needs
