Physical Therapist (Home Health)

Location: Red Bluff, California

Job Details

• Work setting: Home Health Therapy (PT, OT, SLP)
• Average daily census: 78 patients (expected to grow with PT availability)
• Typical patient diagnoses: Orthopedic/joint replacements, geriatric patients with multiple comorbidities such as CHF and COPD
• Caseload: Approximately 5 visits per day
• Shift: Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days
• Weekend and holiday requirements: None (holidays off)
• Call: No call required
• Ventilator patients: None
• Orientation: No floor-specific orientation
• EMR system: HomeCare HomeBase (tablet provided for documentation)
• Service area: Most of Tehama County, with some areas outside office range
• Mileage: Around 40 miles per day, expected to decrease as staff and patient load distribution improves

Required Qualifications

• License: Physical Therapist license required
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) required
• Experience: Must have Home Health experience; candidates with less than 2 years of experience will be considered
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Additional Information

• PT staff perform Start of Care (SOC) visits, especially for orthopedic patients when nursing is not ordered
• Support staff includes intake RN, manager, and nurse aides
