Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Float required to units of equal acuity
- Unit size: 36 beds
- Charting system: Epic (experience required)
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic charting system
Required Documentation & Compliance
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification (highest level)
- Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 1 year
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- Photo for badge
- Skills checklist and work history verification as required
Additional Information
- Float to units of equal acuity may be required
- Candidates residing in certain counties in Texas are not eligible for this travel assignment
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
- Core competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
This position offers an opportunity to work nights in a telemetry unit with a moderate patient ratio and requires strong Epic charting skills. The role is suited for experienced RNs with at least 2 years in the specialty and preferred prior travel experience.
