Registered Nurse - Medicine Specialty

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex.

Essential Responsibilities

Manage care for an assigned group of patients.
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders.
Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Obtain and monitor patients' physiological data; observe and intervene as necessary.
Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
Deliver competent patient care.
Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Delegate tasks to support staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
Minimum 1 year of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
