Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Granbury, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Provide full-scope Labor & Delivery nursing care in an 8-bed unit, including Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, and Postpartum/Couplet Care. Responsibilities include:
- Intrapartum management (induction/augmentation, high-risk labor monitoring, fetal heart rate interpretation)
- Circulating C-sections
- Immediate newborn stabilization and participation in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Routine newborn assessments
- Postpartum and couplet care for stable mothers and infants
- Ability to function independently in a low-volume, high-acuity rural setting
- Flexibility to transition between labor, nursery, and couplet assignments based on census and staffing needs
- Floating within Women’s Services
Shift: Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1:1 for labor, 3:1 for couplet care
Must work 1 major holiday if assignment overlaps
Maximum requested time off: 6 days within a 6-week period
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or ARC
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Ability to circulate C-sections
- High-risk labor management
- Participation in neonatal resuscitation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous rural hospital experience
- Experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) model
Additional Information
- No call required
- No 48-hour option
- No block guarantee, but attempts will be made to accommodate
- Scrub color: Navy blue or pink
- Electronic Medical Record systems used: GE Centricity Perinatal, Medhost for orders, charges, and medication scanning
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
