Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Granbury, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Full-scope Labor & Delivery RN responsible for providing care in Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, and Postpartum/Couplet Care in an 8-bed unit. The RN must be competent in:
- Intrapartum management including induction/augmentation, high-risk labor monitoring, fetal heart rate interpretation, and circulating C-sections
- Immediate newborn stabilization and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) participation
- Routine newborn assessments
- Postpartum/couplet care for stable mothers and infants
Must be able to function independently in a low-volume, high-acuity rural setting and transition between labor, nursery, and couplet assignments based on census and staffing needs.
Shift: Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1:1 labor, 3:1 couplet care
Additional Duties: Floating within Women’s Services
Holiday Requirement: Must work 1 major holiday if assignment overlaps
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and participation in neonatal resuscitation
- Ability to circulate C-sections
- Experience in high-risk labor management
- Proficiency in fetal heart rate monitoring interpretation
Additional Information
- No call required
- No 48-hour option
- No block guarantee, but attempts will be made to accommodate
- Maximum requested time off: 6 days within a 6-week period
- Travelers must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
