Registered Nurse - Endoscopy
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse with Endoscopy experience to work in a busy endoscopy unit. The unit includes Pre-Op (9 bays), Procedure Rooms (4), and PACU (6 bays). The team consists of approximately 8 full-time staff members, with variable day shift staffing depending on volume and a night shift call team.
Typical procedures performed include:
- EBUS
- Bronchoscopy
- ION
- EGD
- Colonoscopy
- EUS
- ERCP
The unit uses Olympus scopes and processors, ION, Olympus ultrasound machines, and ERBE equipment. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system used is Cerner and Provation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Preferred Qualifications
- Pulmonary procedural experience is a plus
Additional Information
- Floating areas may include Main PACU, Phase II, Pre-Op, and OR (if prior experience)
- Dress code: Surgical scrubs provided
- Weekend and on-call requirements: 2 weekend 24-hour call shifts in 6 weeks, plus 1 night call per week
Summary
This travel RN position in Endoscopy requires a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience, current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and the ability to work flexible schedules without routine block scheduling accommodations. The role involves working with advanced endoscopic procedures in a high-quality, recognized hospital setting.
