Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Labor and Delivery
Number of Beds: 16
Number of Staff: 120
Shifts:
- Day Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
- Night Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2
Equipment: Baxter Pumps, Phillips electronic fetal monitoring
EMR System: Cerner, Fetal Ink

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Experience working with high-risk patients in Labor and Delivery

Preferred Qualifications

Circulating experience in Labor & Delivery

Typical Procedures Performed

Vaginal Deliveries
Cesarean Sections
Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
Cerclage
Cesarean Hysterectomy

Work Environment & Culture

Personality Fit: Outgoing, Friendly, Adaptable
Dress Code: Scrubs provided
Floating Areas: Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU), Mother-Baby Unit (MOMB), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Weekends and On-call: Not required but available upon approval
