Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM


Unit Information

  • Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Number of Staff: 46
  • Patient Ratios:
    • 1:2 typical
    • 1:3 for PCU boarders
    • 1:1 for sitters or higher acuity patients (IABP, CRRT, open hearts)
  • Staffing: 1 CCT/US during day shift if more than 10 patients
  • Documentation System: EPIC
  • Scheduling: Straight nights or 50/50 shifts
  • Floating Policy: May float to PCU or as a sitter anywhere in hospital inpatient

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Utah
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification

Typical Procedures and Skills

  • Rapid Sequence Intubations
  • Central line placements
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Intubation
  • Arterial line placement
  • Chest tube placement
  • Experience with ventilators, vasopressors, restraint use, arterial lines, and other ICU skills

Additional Information

  • Personality Fit: Outgoing, team player
  • Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
  • Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period

Contract Length

  • 8 weeks
