Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Days)

Location: Lawton, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality patient- and family-centered care in the operating room and other perioperative areas for all patient populations. Acts as a patient advocate and meets surgical nursing practice standards. Maintains skills in prioritization, workload organization, and managing multiple assignments with multilevel personnel. Requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, thorough knowledge of sterile technique, and a strong commitment to teamwork and task completion. Develops and implements total nursing care through assessment, nursing diagnosis, and patient care plans. Provides leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and other patient care team members to maintain professional nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in and implement age-specific care and interaction (pediatric, geriatric, and other patient populations).
• Complete departmental orientation and training, including age-specific training.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members (RN, LPN, NA, Physician, ancillary disciplines) in patient/family assessment.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments according to policy.
• Adequately assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
