Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Salem, Massachusetts

Job Description

• Position involves 36 hours per week with day and evening shifts rotating every other week.
• Unit: Respiratory.
• Rotation: Day shift may rotate to 11a-11p when needed; night shift is straight nights.
• Patient care areas include ICU and Med/Surg floors.
• Clinician to patient ratio:

  • Day shift: 5 Respiratory Therapists (1 Charge, 2 ICU, 2 Med/Surg)
  • Evening shift: 5 Respiratory Therapists
  • Night shift: 4 Respiratory Therapists
• Equipment used includes PB980 Ventilator and Hamilton T1 Transport Ventilator.
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in an acute care setting

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Documentation of immunizations or immunity for MMR (measles, mumps, rubella).
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months.
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred.
• Tdap vaccination preferred within last 10 years.
• Physician health statement within 365 days of start date.
• Criminal background checks, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry.
• Exclusion checks for relevant state and federal databases.
• Submission of references and skills checklist required.

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• EMR charting system experience with EPIC is expected.
• Rotation includes day and evening shifts; night shifts are fixed.
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for N95 fit testing.
