Description
Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical unit.
- Must have 2 or more years of Medical/Surgical experience.
- Ability to interpret heart rhythms and monitor patients on telemetry.
- Prior travel experience is required.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
- May be required to float within skill set to other units or sites within a 40-mile radius.
- Work schedule includes every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- One completed travel assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- NIH certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Documentation of immunizations and health screenings including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted).
- Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted).
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined, mask required during flu season).
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with annual TB questionnaire; chest X-ray if positive.
- Fit test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 Regular, 1860 Small, or 1870+), updated annually.
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to assignment start, updated annually.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must not be expired and address must match records).
- Professional references (minimum two) and employment verification for the past seven years.
- Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, and National Sex Offender registry.
- Completion of onboarding requirements including education attestation, contract worker onboarding, and pre-hire modules.
- Skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Annual NIH certification updates as required.

- This position requires flexibility to float to other units or nearby sites as needed.
- All required documentation and verifications must be current and completed prior to assignment start.
- Specialty competency exams and health screenings must be updated every 3 years or as specified.
