Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW); holidays rotating with regular staff
- Required experience in Labor & Delivery, specifically high-risk labor and delivery
- Circulator experience for cesarean deliveries required
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
- Travel experience required; may need to float onsite within skill set or to other nearby sites within 40 miles
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with high-risk patients
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Completion of specialty competency exam with minimum 80% passing score (updated every 3 years)
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (updated every 3 years)
- EPIC test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
- Color vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Health and immunization requirements including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history, no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (optional, but mask required if declined during flu season)
- Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive, annual TB questionnaire)
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, required annually)
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Professional references (minimum two) and criminal background check including social security trace, OIG search, and national sex offender registry
- Verification of education and employment history relevant to clinical work
- Signed assignment agreement and onboarding attestations
Additional Notes
- Must be able to float to other sites within 40 miles if needed
- Onsite completion of nursing contract worker onboarding required
- Must maintain compliance with all required documentation and certifications throughout assignment
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with high-risk and cesarean delivery circulator experience who have prior travel nursing experience and are comfortable working in a dynamic, rotating schedule environment.
