Registered Nurse - MS/Tele
Location: Johnson City, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- 24/7 phlebotomy, Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and supervisor support available on all units
- 36/36 schedule (36 hours on, 36 hours off)
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- No call required
- Floating between units required
- Hybrid unit requiring previous Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
Orientation & Scheduling
- General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning (CBLs)
- 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
- Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
- Additional overtime shifts may be flexed based on hospital census without penalty
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- State nursing license primary source verification required
- NURSYS verification required
- Photo for badge (must meet specific standards) within 48 hours of contract signing
- Respirator medical evaluation questionnaire and clearance forms required within 48 hours of contract signing
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Respiratory fit testing completed onsite (previous fit tests from non-facility sources not accepted)
- Immunizations/vaccinations or declinations required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
- Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Skills checklist required
Schedule & Work Environment
- 36 hours on, 36 hours off schedule

Notes
- Candidate must be prepared to complete compliance documents by orientation deadline
- Hospital may adjust shifts based on census without financial penalty
- Active participation in clinical education for nursing students is expected
