Description
Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description
- 1 year of experience required in Radiology / Cardiology specialty (vascular procedure experience preferred)
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- On-call requirements: 5 to 6 nights per month (5 PM to 6:30 AM next morning)
- 1 weekend of call per month (Friday 5 PM through Monday 6:30 AM)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Maryland
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
- Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- Education verification and transcript/diploma preferred
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 30 days of start
- Required vaccinations and immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination (or approved exemptions)
- Radiation badge required (provided by facility)
- Various competency exams including medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams (must be renewed annually)
- Facility-specific policies and acknowledgements (e.g., hand hygiene, floating policy, time and attendance) must be completed and signed
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Other certifications as applicable based on unit requirements (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification, CPI)
Additional Notes
- Stroke and Trauma CEUs may be required and must be maintained annually
- EKG competency exam is time-sensitive with limited attempts allowed; remediation required if failed
- References and employment verification required (2 professional references within 2 years)
- Candidate must complete consent to release information prior to start
This position offers a structured schedule with on-call responsibilities and requires a candidate with solid experience in vascular procedures and appropriate certifications. First-time travel healthcare workers are encouraged to apply.
