Description
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Paris, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Facility Overview
- Level III Trauma Center
- 9 Labor & Delivery beds
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:3
- Equipment includes EFM, IV pump, NIBP
- Electronic Health Records: GE Centricity, Meditech
- Serves all age groups
- Weekly orientation on Mondays
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend / as needed
- Call requirements: As needed
- Float requirements: As needed
Job Responsibilities & Skills
- Proficient and independent in labor management
- Experience with labor management, circulating cesarean sections, and OB triage
- Common diagnoses and treatments include labor, pre-term labor, vaginal delivery, cesarean section, and pregnancy complications
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Required certifications prior to start:
- ACLS
- AWHONN
- BLS
- HWC
- NRP
- PALS
Work Environment & Culture
- Professional, upbeat, motivated, and self-assured personality fit
- Dress code: Hospital-provided scrubs; unnatural hair colors and casual wear are not acceptable
Additional Information
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
- Housing options include Airbnb and local hotels with possible discounts
