Description
Cardiac Cath Lab Tech
Location: Savannah, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Unit: Cath Lab – Interventional Labs
- Beds: 3 Cath Labs (2 Dedicated Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid OR)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Staffing: 3-4 person teams (2 Techs, 2 RNs ideal) including Lead Tech, RN, RCIS
- Equipment: IVUS, Shockwave, DFR, FFR, Rotablator, IABP, Impella, Temporary Pacemaker (TVP)
- Documentation System: EPIC Cupid
- Scheduling: 4–10 hour shifts with call
- Dress Code:
- RN: Royal blue and black
- Tech: Navy blue and black
Job Responsibilities & Procedures
- Manage critical care drips (gtt management)
- Perform procedures including:
- Right and Left Heart Catheterization (RHC/LHC)
- Complex Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
- Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) interventions
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (TMVR/Mitral Clips)
- Watchman device placement
- Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) and Atrial/Ventricular Septal Defect (ASD/VSD) closures
- Temporary Pacemaker (TVP) placement
- Impella CP & RP support
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) support
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Current RCIS-Tech certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience managing critical care drips (gtt management)
- ICU experience
- Emergency Room (ER) experience
