Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

Unit: Cath Lab – Interventional Labs
Beds: 3 Cath Labs (2 Dedicated Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid OR)
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Staffing: 3-4 person teams (2 Techs, 2 RNs ideal) including Lead Tech, RN, RCIS
Equipment: IVUS, Shockwave, DFR, FFR, Rotablator, IABP, Impella, Temporary Pacemaker (TVP)
Documentation System: EPIC Cupid
Scheduling: 4–10 hour shifts with call
Dress Code:
- RN: Royal blue and black
- Tech: Navy blue and black

Job Responsibilities & Procedures

Manage critical care drips (gtt management)
Perform procedures including:
- Right and Left Heart Catheterization (RHC/LHC)
- Complex Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
- Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) interventions
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (TMVR/Mitral Clips)
- Watchman device placement
- Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) and Atrial/Ventricular Septal Defect (ASD/VSD) closures
- Temporary Pacemaker (TVP) placement
- Impella CP & RP support
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) support

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
Current RCIS-Tech certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Experience managing critical care drips (gtt management)
ICU experience
Emergency Room (ER) experience

Additional Information

The unit holds a Level 1 Cardiac Care Designation and serves as a hub for cardiac care.
